Summary: In this study, a carboxymethyl cellulose-based supramolecular hydrogel with thermo-responsive gel-sol transition was prepared. The hydrogel showed tunable mechanical properties and good self-recovery. It quickly underwent a gel-sol transition upon thermal stimulus and exhibited pressure resistance and flame retardancy. Flushing the residual hydrogel with hot water effectively cleared the simulated pipeline. The supramolecular hydrogel has significant applications in the safe execution of hot work on pipelines.

Summary: Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) show great potential in cancer treatment due to their biocompatibility and the ability to modify them with proteins and fluorescent molecules. Immobilizing CNCs with GAPDH and FITC creates the compound FCNC-G, which inhibits cancer cell proliferation and affects mitochondrial function. Loading FCNC-G with doxorubicin (DOX) further enhances its therapeutic potential.

Summary: Resolving the interfacial behaviors is crucial for understanding membrane fouling formation, but quantifying the rapid changes in complex solutions remains challenging. In this study, PVDF membrane and OCT were used to examine the dynamic interactions between membrane foulants and foulants during the filtration of food waste digestate, and the effects of varying concentrations of sodium chloride were investigated.

Summary: This study investigated the fabrication process and properties of fiber-type organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs). By utilizing composite fibers of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) and TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofiber (CNF), the mechanical strength of the fibers was significantly improved, leading to higher carrier mobility. These findings suggest great potential for eco-friendly wearable/textile electronics.

Summary: This study aimed to develop a simplified model to predict flow distribution and gas transfer inside TPMS structures. Through a parametric study and model comparison, it was found that using artificial neural networks (NN) as a modeling strategy can accurately characterize mass transfer in TPMS structures. The developed reduced order model (ROM) demonstrated high accuracy in predicting gas transfer rates and pressure drop. The anisotropic TPMS structure showed advantages in flow distribution and gas transfer rates compared to isotropic structures.

Summary: The interaction between hot-extrusion treatment and starch-proanthocyanidins was found to enhance the nutritional properties of chestnut starch, including an increase in resistant starch content and enhanced alpha-amylase inhibitory activity, antioxidant activity, and antiglycation activity. Additionally, the treated starch increased the levels of short chain fatty acids, particularly propionate, and enriched beneficial intestinal bacteria. This study provides an approach to improve the nutritional functions of starch and offers guidance for improving the nutritional quality of chestnut starch-based foods.
