Nurse-guided mobile health care program to reduce emotional distress experienced by parents of infants prenatally diagnosed with critical congenital heart disease: A pilot study

Summary: This study tested the impact of a nurse-guided mHealth care program on the emotional distress of parents following prenatal diagnosis of critical congenital heart disease. The results showed that this approach is feasible and can significantly reduce parents' symptoms of depression, anxiety, and trauma.

Summary: This study evaluated the effectiveness of a vaccine strategy bundle in increasing HPV vaccine initiation and completion rates in a specialty clinic setting. By implementing the bundle, which included staff education, provider incentives, offering vaccines in clinics, and verifying vaccine completion, the clinic successfully improved HPV vaccine initiation and completion rates among sickle cell disease patients.

Quantification of Enteric Dysfunction in Cystic Fibrosis: Inter- and Intraindividual Variability

Summary: The study tested the usefulness of various biomarkers as indicators of gut dysfunction in cystic fibrosis (CF) and investigated the repeatability of these measures in individuals over short periods and their correlation with clinical outcomes. The results showed that elevated levels of fLcn2 in individuals with CF may predict worsened pulmonary function.

Summary: This study describes the spectrum of disease and burden of care in infants with congenital micrognathia. The results show that these infants commonly require surgical intervention and tube feedings, and disparities based on race and among centers were identified.

Mothers' satisfaction with emergency care when their child has an autism spectrum disorder

Summary: This study aimed to compare factors affecting mothers' satisfaction with care in the Emergency Department (ED) for children with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) and children without ASD. The results showed that mothers of children with ASD expressed lower satisfaction, especially in terms of waiting times, attentiveness and responsiveness of nurses, coordination and cooperation among ED staff, and the overall organization of work in the ED. Communication difficulties in children predicted mothers' satisfaction with care.

Early intraspinal recurrence of a sacrococcygeal teratoma following oncologic resection: A case report

Summary: This article describes a rare case of early recurrence of sacrococcygeal teratoma (SCT) with intraspinal extension after resection. Regular MRI imaging plays an important role in early detection of recurrent tumor after surgery, and further studies are needed to elucidate factors that may predispose benign SCTs to early aggressive recurrence.
