Summary: The study presents a case series of three pediatric patients initially diagnosed with idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL), but later found to have functional neurological disorder. The early use of otoacoustic emissions (OAE) in the workup of SSNHL can prevent unnecessary and harmful therapies and expedite access to counseling services for symptom resolution.

Summary: This study evaluated the efficacy of tympanomastoidectomy and parenteral antibiotic therapy for otorrhea caused by CSOM in children. The results showed that tympanomastoidectomy had a shorter time to resolution of symptoms compared to parenteral antibiotic therapy. However, bilateral ear disease status was the only factor independently associated with the time to resolution of symptoms.

Summary: This study examined the nature of ADA discrimination complaints in individuals with cochlear implants. Out of 24 included cases, the highest number occurred in California and the most frequent settings for discrimination were K-12 schools, workplaces, and encounters with police/correctional officers. The majority of cases involved complaints under Title II of the ADA, and summary judgment was often given in favor of the defendant or the case was dismissed entirely.

The results showed that Google sources had significantly higher quality than ChatGPT responses, although both were similarly difficult to read. Summary: This study assessed the efficacy and safety of low-dose intratympanic gentamicin for vertigo attacks in Meniere's disease. The treatment significantly reduced vertigo attacks without causing hearing deterioration. The method primarily affected vestibular function while preserving cochlear integrity. These findings suggest that a low-dose, clinical symptomatology-based gentamicin treatment regimen could be an effective and safe strategy for managing unilateral Meniere's disease.

Summary: This study aims to identify and synthesize key research advances in the preventative measures and medical and surgical treatment of uncomplicated otitis media (OM), as well as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on OM management. The study found that there have been important advances in OM management in recent years, such as the effectiveness of video discharge instructions in reducing symptoms for parents of children with acute otitis media (AOM) and the efficacy of levofloxacin solution for treating chronic suppurative otitis media.
