The environmental Kuznets curve, based on the economic complexity, and the pollution haven hypothesis in PIIGS countries

Summary: This study investigates the dynamic association between economic complexity, foreign direct investment, renewable energy, urbanization process, and carbon emissions in PIIGS countries. The results show an inverted-U and further N-shaped relationship between economic complexity and CO2 emissions, confirming the presence of the environmental Kuznets curve hypotheses. The findings also support the pollution haven hypothesis and reveal the inhibiting effect of renewable energy on CO2 emissions. Urbanization process exerts significant pressure on environmental quality. Additionally, a bidirectional causal link is found between economic complexity and CO2 emissions.

A non-flammable hydrous organic electrolyte for sustainable zinc batteries

Summary: Aqueous zinc batteries are safer than lithium-ion batteries, but their anodes are susceptible to dendrite failure and side reactions. The authors demonstrate a low-cost electrolyte that involves hydrate salt and organic solvent, proving to be non-flammable. The zinc battery cell delivers excellent performance even at low temperatures of -30 degrees Celsius.

Analyze the environmental sustainability factors of China: The role of fossil fuel energy and renewable energy

The results suggest that consuming renewable energy is crucial for achieving sustainable environmental goals.

The nexus between urbanization, renewable energy consumption, financial development, and CO2 emissions: evidence from selected Asian countries

Summary: This study explores the impact of urbanization, renewable energy consumption, financial development, agriculture, and economic growth on CO2 emissions in 15 Asian economies from 1990 to 2014. The results suggest that urbanization, financial development, and economic growth increase CO2 emissions, while renewable energy consumption reduces CO2 emissions, with agriculture having an insignificant impact. The study recommends a comprehensive SDG-oriented policy framework for these economies to progress towards achieving SDG 13 and SDG 7 objectives, contributing to the literature by including economic growth and its drivers.

Pollution concern during globalization mode in financially resource-rich countries: Do financial development, natural resources, and renewable energy consumption matter?

Summary: The study explores the impact of financial development, natural resources, globalization, and energy consumption on the ecological footprint in financially resource-rich countries, finding that financial development, natural resources, and non-renewable energy positively affect the ecological footprint, while globalization and renewable energy reduce it. The interaction between financial development with globalization and renewable energy with natural resources is also shown to reduce environmental deterioration, highlighting the importance of improving financial and natural resource structures and increasing renewable energy consumption in these countries.

A systematic scoping review of sustainable tourism indicators in relation to the sustainable development goals

The findings also demonstrate the neglect of governance dimension in STIs studies and the high engagement of residents as compared to tourists.

The Dynamic Impact of Digital Economy on Carbon Emission Reduction: Evidence City-level Empirical Data in China

Hydrothermal analysis for a parabolic solar unit with wavy absorber pipe and nanofluid

The SWOT analysis is conducted for all RES based power plants, and the comparative environmental impact analyses are presented. It is found that careful selection of RES is necessary to prevent harm to the environment.

A Global Assessment: Can Renewable Energy Replace Fossil Fuels by 2050?

Summary: Our study evaluated the effectiveness of using eight pathways in combination for a complete transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy by 2050. The key findings include the need to increase renewable energy production and improve energy efficiency, as well as the importance of energy conservation policies and carbon taxes. The study also highlights the varying levels of per capita energy consumption based on regional, national development, and climate conditions, and emphasizes the necessity of major lifestyle changes in developed countries and global cooperation to achieve a full energy transition.
