The Effect of Student-Teacher Relationships on Students' Math Motivation Across EU Countries

Summary: Using PISA 2012 data, this study explored how student-teacher relationships affected mathematics motivation across EU countries. Positive relationships were associated with higher motivation, while class size, ability grouping, and teacher intentions did not significantly impact mathematics motivation. The findings suggest that positive perceptions of student-teacher relationships can positively impact math motivation, consistent across different demographic groups.

Development of the Tiered Onsite Evaluation Tool for Organization-Wide Person-Centered Positive Behavior Support

This article describes the initial development of a fidelity of implementation tool used to evaluate organization-wide implementation of PBS and person-centered practices in community settings. The authors discuss the exploratory and descriptive evaluation process involved in the tool development and share data from a 6-year implementation period.

Preparing Teacher Candidates in Classroom Management Prior to Entering the Teaching Profession

Summary: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a specialized curriculum in preparing general education teacher candidates to implement classroom management strategies within a multi-tiered systems of support framework. The results showed significant differences in knowledge of classroom management principles and ADHD between the intervention group and the comparison group, indicating the effectiveness of the specialized curriculum.

Challenging behaviour and its correlates in preschool-aged children with an intellectual disability in Saudi Arabia

Summary: This study assessed the prevalence and correlates of challenging behavior in preschool-aged children with intellectual disability in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The findings revealed that the majority of preschool-aged children with intellectual disability exhibited challenging behavior, particularly self-injurious and stereotyped behaviors. Additionally, there was a higher likelihood of engaging in such behaviors for children with autism and intellectual disability, while children with Down syndrome displayed fewer stereotyped behaviors. Low adaptive skill levels were also associated with increased challenging behavior.

The first 1001 days: A scoping review of parenting interventions strengthening good enough parenting in parents with intellectual disabilities

This scoping review identified and critically evaluated six preventive interventions for parents with intellectual disabilities, showing preliminary to strong indications of effectiveness. However, more comprehensive interventions are needed to enhance parents' knowledge and skills.

A Preliminary Evaluation of the Feasibility and Efficacy of Mantra-Like Phrase Recitation in Improving Mental Health in Autistic Adults

Eye gaze During Semi-naturalistic Face-to-Face Interactions in Autism

Summary: This study found that autistic adults indeed have reduced eye contact in social situations. The autistic group had a shorter overall gaze duration and made fewer fixations towards the eyes and face compared to the control group. Both autistic and control groups adjusted their mean gaze duration on the eyes and face based on whether they were speaking or listening during the interaction.

The Effects of a Computerized Taped Intervention on the Accuracy of Letter Identification
