Successful treatment of alopecia universalis with abrocitinib: a case report

Jie Zhang, Ya-Gang Zuo

Summary: Abrocitinib, a selective JAK1 inhibitor, is effective for treating moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD) and co-morbid alopecia universalis (AU). We present a case of AU following drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) that responded well to abrocitinib therapy. We also reviewed AA cases after DRESS and explored the autoimmune mechanisms involved, suggesting abrocitinib as a promising option for recalcitrant AU.

Engineering extracellular vesicles with macrophage membrane fusion for ameliorating imiquimod-induced psoriatic skin inflammation

Zeng Wang, Zhizhen Qin, Jiadie Wang, Xinqi Xu, Mengxin Zhang, Yuyue Liang, Yukun Huang, Zengyang Yu, Yu Gong, Luxian Zhou, Yiran Qiu, Minglu Ma, Dan Li, Bin Li

Summary: We developed an engineered extracellular vehicle (EV)-based method for ameliorating inflammatory responses in psoriasis. EVs derived from annexin A1 (ANXA1) overexpressing T cells were co-extruded with M2 macrophage membrane to obtain engineered EVs. In vitro, the effect of engineered EVs on macrophage polarization was evaluated, and the efficacy of engineered EVs in ameliorating psoriatic inflammation was evaluated in a mouse model.
