An electrochemical metallic nanowire aptasensor for rapid and ultrasensitive detection of cardiac troponin I

Summary: A metallic nanowire aptasensor with high sensitivity and short detection time was developed for the early diagnosis and prognostic monitoring of heart failure by detecting cardiac troponin I (cTnI). The sensor exhibited excellent detection performance, including high sensitivity, short detection time, high specificity, and good reproducibility, making it a potential application in portable devices for continuous monitoring of cardiomyocyte injury.

Fluorescent probes based on quinoline and naphthidine derivatives with NIR and AIE properties for real-time monitoring mitochondrial viscosity during mitophagy

Label-free identification of DNA single-base mutation for clinical diagnostics based on plasmonic SiNW@AgNP arrays

Summary: Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) has great potential in DNA analysis, but the identification of single-base mutations is still limited. In this work, plasmonic SiNW arrays decorated with Ag nanoparticles (SiNW@AgNP arrays) were developed to address these challenges, showing excellent sensitivity and reproducibility. Under optimized conditions, SiNW@AgNP arrays enable the detection of DNA bases and the discrimination of gene mutations.

Plasmonic digital PCR for discriminative detection of SARS-CoV-2 variants

Summary: We have developed a novel strategy for discriminative detection of SARS-CoV-2 variants using the plasmonic photothermal effect of gold nanofilms and digital polymerase chain reaction (dPCR) technology. With this method, we were able to detect the delta and omicron variants with high sensitivity within 25 minutes from COVID-19 patients' clinical samples, making it a rapid and accurate point-of-care testing tool.

An APE1-mediated isothermal target cycling amplification for label-free and rapid detection of miRNA

Summary: This study developed a highly efficient and sensitive miRNA detection method by combining APE1-mediated isothermal target cycling amplification system with magnetic separation. The label-free and rapid detection of miRNA was achieved through the recognition and cleavage of AP probes by APE1, and the fluorescence measurement of G4/ThT. The method showed high specificity and sensitivity, and demonstrated its application in detecting miR-1246 in serum samples from breast cancer patients and normal people.

The sensor has low detection and quantification limits, and exhibits specificity towards Escherichia coli.
