Modeling Spatial Differences in Mortality Rate of Coronavirus (Covid-19) Using Geographically Weighted Regression Until the End of 2021: A Global Study

Thaer Mutlaq Ayasrah

Summary: This research examines the spatial relationships of COVID-19 mortality in 213 countries worldwide. It analyzes various variables such as cumulative cases, hospital beds, population demographics, and vaccination status to predict mortality rates. The results show that there are significant spatially homogeneous relationships between cumulative cases, elderly population, unvaccinated population, and COVID-19 mortality, collectively explaining 97% of the variation. This spatial modeling provides valuable insights for establishing preventive measures and reducing mortality worldwide.

The Impacts of Spatial Parameters on Space Efficiency in Hybrid Villa-Apartments in Greater Khartoum, Sudan

Gamal Mahmoud Hamid, Yusra Omer Elsawi Mohammed

Summary: This study aims to provide guidelines for the design of hybrid villa-apartments (HVAs) by analyzing the relationship between spatial parameters and space efficiency. The results show that the most efficient plot location is the corner position; center-edge is the optimum location for vertical circulation; back location is the best choice for yards; and for plot dimensions, a longer width than depth is preferred. These findings can assist designers, owners, and developers in maximizing the space efficiency and feasibility of HVAs during the design stage.
