Impact of SARS-CoV-2 and Other Upper Respiratory Tract Viral Infections on Reproductive Parameters in Young Healthy Men with Mild Symptoms of Disease

Angel Elenkov, Anna Nilsson, Alexandra Kondic, Blenda Bottiger, Marcus Broden, Ebba Bergman, Annie Dahl, Aleksander Giwercman

Summary: Data on the presence of SARS-CoV-2 in semen is inconclusive, making counseling on sexual transmission risk challenging. Our understanding of the impact of upper respiratory tract infections (URTI) on the male reproductive system is limited. Mild URTI may negatively affect sperm concentration, LH, and free testosterone.
