This paper provides a general review on folate and vitamin B-12 nutrition and metabolism and the metabolic interrelationship between these vitamins. The effects of some common polymorphisms in folate and vitamin B-12 genes and the influence of vitamin B-6 and riboflavin status on folate and vitamin B-12 metabolism are also discussed.
