The aim of the present study was to investigate the essential oil extracted from pine nut shells and its potential application. The essential oil was extracted by steam distillation method and analyzed by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry. Forty-eight volatile chemical compositions were determined and identified. alpha-Pinene, beta-pinene, 3-carene, 1-methy-4-(1-methylethenyl)-(S)-cyclohexene, and n-hexadecanoic acid are predominant volatile compositions in pine nut shells.
