The relationship between insulin resistance and abdominal fat distribution was studied in Indian patients with PCOS. Subcutaneous fat, together with a family history of type 2 diabetes mellitus, was the best marker of insulin resistance. (Fertil Steril (R) 2009;91:1437-40.
