1-[(Trifluoromethyl)thio]isoquinolines can be assembled through silver(I)-catalyzed reaction of 2-alkynylbenzaldoxime with silver (trifluoromethyl)thiolate in the presence of p-methoxybenzenesulfonyl chloride. The (trifluoromethyl)thio moiety (SCF3) could be easily introduced into the scaffold of isoquinoline under mild conditions.
