With global warming, natural gas is becoming one of the critical energy sources in the world due to low-level emission of greenhouse gases. For that reason, natural gas consumption is increasing rapidly in the world. Turkey, which is a natural bridge between Europe and the Middle East, is a developing country in the world. The demand for natural gas has increased in the past few years and it is expected to continue in the future. Natural gas is mainly used in electricity generation and heating in Turkey. In this study, evaluation of natural gas systems for electricity generation is accomplished by modified technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution. As the indicators in this analysis resource, economic, environmental, social, and efficiency indicators are taken into consideration. A gas turbine power plant, combine cycle plant, combined heat and power plant, and a fuel cell power plant are considered as potential natural systems. Results obtained in this study are compared with the current natural gas systems used in power plants in Turkey.
