Enhancement of the cell performance in the passive direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) can be achieved by using different types of current collectors. This paper is an attempt to conduct a review of the experimental studies on the current collectors of passive DMFC. Key issues such as shape of the current collectors and materials of the current collectors of passive DMFC have been analyzed in detail. Design parameters of the current collectors for passive DMFC have also been discussed. Several novel current collectors of passive DMFC have been identified and reviewed in detail.
