1-Fluoropropane-2-one (fluoroacetone, FA) is investigated as an effective SE! additive with propylene carbonate based electrolytes on graphite electrodes. The investigations are focused on constant current experiments with respect to first cycle efficiency, high rate performance and long term cycling stability. The additive FA is also able to react with vinylene carbonate (VC) which improves the first cycle efficiency. The electrolyte 1 M LiPF6 in PC with 1% VC and 1% FA shows a first cycle efficiency of 75% and allows stable cycling at 360 mAh g(-1) with a capacity retention of more than 99% after 100 cycles and a discharge capacity of 353 mAh g(-1) at a discharge rate of 5C.
