Nitrogen-enriched carbon nanowires have been prepared with the direct carbonization method using polyaniline nanowires as a carbon precursor at different temperatures. The structure and morphology of as-prepared materials are characterized by X-ray diffraction, N-2 sorption, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and FT-IR spectrometer. The electrochemical measurements are conducted by cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge/discharge, and the results demonstrate that the specific capacitance of electrode material reaches 327 F g(-1) at a current density of 0.1 A g(-1).
