The electrochemical oxidation of beta-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) is studied at a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with bicontinuous gyroidal mesoporous carbon (BGMC). Due to the large surface area and remarkable electrocatalytic properties of BGMC, the BGMC/GCE exhibits potent electrocatalytic activity toward the electro-oxidation of NADH. A substantial decrease of 649 mV in the overpotential of NADH oxidation reaction is achieved compared with a bare GCE. The anodic peak currents increase steadily with the concentration of NADH in a broad range from 3.0 x 10 (6) to 1.4 x 10(-3) M with a low detection limit of 1.0 x 10 (6) M under the optimal condition.
