We show that it is possible to fabricate NixCu1-x heterogeneous alloy nanowires of arbitrary composition from a single electrolyte by depositing controlled submonolayer quantities of Cu and a Ni-rich alloy in alternation. The average composition is highly uniform along the nanowire length, but magnetic measurements show evidence for the formation of Ni-rich clusters. (c) 2008 The Electrochemical Society.
