Two industrial seawater reverse osmosis plants based on FilmTec SW30HR-380 spiral-wound membrane modules were simulated and their performance was investigated. The model was found to represent the plant with good accuracy; the relative errors in the overall water recovery and salt rejection were 10.03% and 0.03% respectively for the first industrial plant and 3.1% and 0.07% respectively for the second one. The influence of operating parameters such as operating pressure and feed flow rate on the performance of the plant were studied. (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
