A novel three-dimensional (3D) [Ag-3(dmtrz)(2)(CN)](n) (1) with a three-fold interpenetrated CdSO4-type net is in situ solvothermal synthesized, and influential factors in the in situ reaction are briefly discussed. The luminescent property studies reveal that 1 shows green phosphorescent emission upon excitation while other binary silver(I)-dmtrz compounds discussed in this paper only emit blue phosphorescence.
