Simple and quantitative mechanochemical preparation of the first zinc and copper complexes of the neuroleptic drug gabapentin

In this communication we describe the solid-state preparation and structural characterization of the first two coordination complexes of the neuroleptic drug gabapentin, obtained by grinding together solid gabapentin and the inorganic salts ZnCl2 and CuCl2 center dot 2H(2)O.
