A novel metal-organic framework (MOF) Of Co-12(BTC)(8)(DMF)(6)(mu(2)-H2O)(2)(mu-H2O)(14)superset of(solvent) (1 superset of D(solvents), BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate) prepared by the solvothermal reaction Of CoCl2 and H3BTC in dimethylformamide presents another unique and unprecedented ternary MOF in which the triangular organic spacers, square and tetrahedral secondary building units are alternately associated.
