In this study nanoporous metal organic framework (MOF-5) was synthesized as the copper ion (Cu2+) adsorbent. The morphology and structure of the obtained adsorbent were characterized by XRD; SEM and nitrogen adsorption/desorption methods. The adsorption studies of copper ion by MOF-5 include both kinetic and equilibrium approaches and the obtained equilibrium and kinetic data were fitted with different models. The effect of temperature and solution pH on the removal efficiency was investigated as well. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
