Heterotrimetallic {3d-5d-4f} compounds have been prepared by assemblage of {W(CN)(8)}(3-) and {L(Me2)NiLn}(3+) units, with Ln = Y (1) and La (2). These have been found to exhibit different supramolecular organizations. A chain structure is formed for Ln = Y, whereas La leads to a hexanuclear aggregate. The investigation of the magnetic behavior for these compounds revealed ferromagnetic W-Ni interaction with J = 20 cm(-1) for 2. To cite this article: J.-P Sutter et al., C.R. Chimie 11 (2008).
