A facile electrochemical method to fabricate reduced graphene oxide (RGO) wrapped carbon cloth (CC) as a novel support for anchoring Pt-Ru nanocatalysts is reported. The obtained composite electrodes have been characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDX) and electrochemical methods. It is found that the Pt-Ru nanoparticles electro-deposited are smaller and more uniformly dispersed on RGO wrapped CC electrode (CCE) than those on the bare CCE. The introduction of RGO on CCE surface is beneficial to the dispersion of Pt-Ru nanoparticles, leading to the enhanced electro-catalytic activity and anti-poisoning ability of Pt-Ru toward methanol electro-oxidation.
