Results of studying the chemically induced synthesis of colloidal silver in microorganism cells are reported. It is suggested that three-dimensional structures that comprise colloidal silver crosslinked with matrix biopolymers are formed over the course of synthesis. Bactericide properties of synthesized biocomposite materials are studied before and after the lyophilization on Gram-negative bacteria and yeasts in both solid and liquid nutrients. Correlations between disperse characteristics of forming silver nanoparticles, surface properties, and the biological activity of preparations are demonstrated. Biocomposite preparations of ultradispersed silver synthesized by the reduction with sodium borohydrid are characterized by enhanced microbicide activity compared to analogous preparations synthesized with hydrazine.
