AN UPDATE ON THERAPEUTIC AGENTS IN BEHCET'S DISEASE, A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF A COMPLEX PATHOLOGY.

Luis Dulcey et al.

Summary: Behcet syndrome is a multisystem vasculitis with varying clinical manifestations and disease course, leading to heterogeneity among patients. Treatment options need to consider this heterogeneity in order to effectively suppress inflammation and prevent relapses. In addition to steroids and traditional immunosuppressives, biologic drugs, especially TNF inhibitors, have become increasingly important in treating Behcet syndrome. This review provides an overview of studies on conventional and biological drugs, as well as promising drugs and management strategies based on clinical phenotypes.
