An isocratic liquid chromatographic method with column switching and ultraviolet detection is described for quantitative analyses of amitriptyline, aripiprazole, clomipramine, clozapine, desipramine, duloxetine, fluoxetine, imipramine, nortriptyline, reboxetine, sertraline and trimipramine and metabolites in human serum. The method was validated for therapeutic drug concentrations. A linear relationship (r > 0.966) was obtained between the concentration and the detector signals, recoveries were between 95 and 108% and the intra- and inter-assay reproducibilities of quality control samples were below 10%. The method was found to be applicable for therapeutic drug monitoring guided treatment of patients with psychoactive drugs.
