Transition-metal-catalyzed cyanation reaction is one of the most attractive modern methods for the synthesis of organic cyanides. Recent development of the transition-metal-catalyzed C-CN bonds coupling reactions is reviewed, which includes the cyanation reactions of aryl, vinyl halides and pseudohalides, arylboronic acids and alkene, alkyne, aromatic hydrocarbon. Their mechanisms are discussed.
