A simple and one-pot method for the synthesis of octahydroquinazolinone is reported. Cu/SiO2 in refluxing ethanol catalyzes this three-component condensation reaction to afford the corresponding quinazolinones in good yields. (C) 2013 Majid M. Heravi.
