A new phenolic glycoside, 4-hydroxy-2-methoxyphenol-beta-D-{3aEuro(3)-O-[4'-hydroxy-3'-methoxy(benzoate)]}glucopyranoside (7), together with six known phenolic compounds, was isolated from the rhizomes of Alpinia bracteata. Their structures were elucidated by spectral and chemical methods. In addition, their antioxidant activity was evaluated with the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) assay.
