This highlight review focuses on stimuli-responsive cooperative catalysts that reversibly switch the catalytic function on the basis of the dynamic conformation changes induced by external stimuli. Such enzyme-like switchable catalysts realize spatiotemporal control of chemical reactions, which can operate multiple regulations of chemical reaction(s) to realize anomalous chemical transformations. Although the progress is still small in present stage, this type of catalysts could open up new possibilities in various fields of scientific researches as well as synthetic chemistry.
