A K-promoted Co-CeO2 catalyst prepared through the coprecipitation impregnation method was shown to give a higher activity for the reverse water-gas shift reaction but with lower formation of the side product CH4. TPR results suggested that the addition of small amounts of K (1 wt %) improved the cobalt oxide reducibility through an electron-donation effect.
