CAN/I-2 promoted synthesis of thiosulfonates by oxidation of disulfides and thiols with high chemoselectivity and excellent yields in wet poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG-400). The overall process is simple, practical, and it provides convenient access to thiosulfonates.
