Cu2S-based counter electrodes screen-printed on different substrates for CdS/CdSe quantum-dot-sensitized solar cells are reported The photovoltaic conversion efficiency of 3 71% was obtained with Cu2S counter electrode deposited on conductive substrate due to low charge-transfer resistance By addition of conductive carbon material, a cell with Cu2S/C composite counter electrode screen-printed on insulated glass substrate displayed an efficiency of 3 37% These results showed the potential application of such Cu2S-based counter electrode for large-scale quantum-dot-sensitized solar cells in the future
