Hydrogenation of Vegetable Oil - Mechanism and Kinetics The paper deals with experimental investigations in vegetable oil hydrogenation for the production of high-grade diesel fuel components in a continuous trickle bed reactor. Based on experimental data the reaction sequence is discussed and a global reaction mechanism is postulated. A formal kinetic model including the formation of intermediates, applicable for the engineering of technical reactors, is presented.
