In this work, SnO2 nanostructures were successfully prepared by a rapid electrochemical deposition process combined with calcining process. By tuning applied potential and current, the morphology and microstructure of the SnO2 nanostructures could be controlled. The optical and the bio-sensor properties of SnO2 nanostructures were measured, which showed high sensitivity compared with bare FTO substrate. The SnO2 nanostructures may have great potential for bimolecular sensor applications. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
