Synergistic release of platinum anticancer drugs and O-2 can be achieved in an H2O2-responsive nanocarrier incorporated with catalase. Such a system combines the advantages of chemotherapy and oxygen therapy and demonstrated improved therapeutic efficacy against cisplatin resistant cell lines which often appear to be in hypoxia.
