A dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) fabricated by using a Mg2+-doped anatase-TiO2 electrode with an alkoxysilyl dye and a Br-3(-)/Br- electrolyte solution exhibited successfully a remarkably high open-circuit photovoltage over 1.2 V, demonstrating a new possibility of DSSCs as practical photovoltaic devices.
