The formulation and commercial production of any Rhizobium or Bradyrhizobium legume inoculant requires the integration of physical, chemical and biological parameters leading to both high target organism populations and long term survival of these organisms ol er time at less than optimum conditions. To achieve this, all raw materials processing and bacteriological needs must be addressed, and quality products developed within narrow budgetary constraints. It is only through an understanding of the needs and limitations of both the products physical and Rhizobium/Bradyrhizobium requirements that an effective and efficient legume inoculant can be commercially produced.
