Bridging between silver clusters and polyoxoanion clusters, the first 1D assembly, [Ag-34((SBu)-Bu-t)(26)(W6O21)(CF3COO)](CF3COO)center dot Et3N center dot 20CH(3)OH (1), based on POM- templated silverthiolate nanoclusters featuring a [Ag-34((SBu)-Bu-t)(26)(CF3COO)](7+) shell and a [W6O21](6-) core is reported. This novel core-shell nanocluster possesses nanoscopic morphology, displays intense deep-blue emission in solution under ambient conditions and also shows special electrochemical properties.
