Photoredox catalyzed C-P bond forming reactions-visible light mediated oxidative phosphonylations of amines

A visible light mediated, carbon-phosphorus bond forming reaction has been developed. With the use of a readily available photoredox catalyst, alpha-amino phosphonates were obtained in good yields under mild reaction conditions.
