A highly sensitive and selective electrochemiluminescent biosensor was designed for mercury(II) based on T-Hg2+-T complex by using Ru(bpy)(3)(2+)-doped silica nanoparticles (Ru-SNPs) to label the oligonucleotides in order to improve the sensitivity.
