Iron/iron oxide core-shell nanoparticles (Fe@FexOy) are a versatile support for immobilizing catalytic metals. Fe@FexOy decorated with Pd (Fe@FexOy/Pd) exhibits high catalytic activity toward Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions in aqueous solution at room temperature in air.
