A novel solution-phase route using Nb2O5 center dot nH(2)O as precursor was developed to selectively synthesize single-crystalline Sr0.4H1.2Nb2O6 center dot H2O nanopolyhedrons and SrNb2O6 nanorods photocatalysts via simply adjusting pH values of the reactive solutions.
