The introduction of [Mn(salen)(H2O)](2)(ClO4)(2)center dot H2O ({Mn-2(III)}) into the polyoxometalate (POM) systems Na-3[XMo6(OH)(6)O-18] (X = Al and Cr) led to the isolation of new {Mn-2(III)}-POM composite materials with single-molecule magnetic behaviour.
