Two new flavonoid dimers (1, 2) consisting of flavan-chalcone together with three known compounds (3-5) were isolated from the ethanol extract of the whole plants of Sarcandra hainanensis. Their structures were determined by extensive spectroscopic analysis. Human immunodeficiency virus-1 integrase inhibition activities of compounds 1 and 2 were evaluated and they showed weak activities with IC50, at 18.05 and 25.27 mu M, respectively.
