Performing computerized symbolic computation, we are able to present new analytic solutions Of a (3+1)-dimensional Jimbo-Miwa equation which does not pass any of the conventional integrability tests. Applying the generalized tanh method, we have found such exact solutions as both the nontraveling-solitonic and traveling-solitary waves. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
