Attempted chemical synthesis of graphite-like carbon nitride

Melamine-based quasi carbon nitride with an orthorhombic layer structure and a molecular weight of more than m/z 5000 was prepared with a system of melamine-Lewis acid at 600-700 degreesC in an autoclave avoiding catalytic carbonation action by ferrous substances.
